Upper Keewenaw Waterway Light

Taken on a warm morning in early October in North Canal Township Park near Houghton, MI. This was the first time I had been to this location, and I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, usually I scout out a spot beforehand. I had gone with the expectation of photographing the sunrise head on, however due to the geography and location of the sun this was not going to happen. I turned my attention 90 degrees to the north towards the waterway light. As the sun rose the deep blue clouds began to change to a baby blue and the first rays caught the highest clouds first igniting them in a brilliant orange.
