Slate River Falls

Taken on a grey and drizzly afternoon. On this occasion I was not planning on going to Slate River Falls. I was driving down some two tracks having left Big Falls. The roads had no names, involved fording rivers and eventually the roads disappeared from all my mapping apps. I kept driving bearing to the south and west whenever there was a fork in the road. Finally, as I was veering right around a corner, I suddenly recognized where I was, I stumbled across the back way into the Slate River Falls area. Initially I wasn’t going to stop, then a nagging feeling overcame me, I slowed down and stopped. I thought for a moment then put the truck in reverse and backed into the space. This photo is the result of an unplanned back road expedition.
